On August 7, 2015, the Hawaii Supreme Court filed its order establishing a Hawaii Appellate Pro Bono Pilot Project, effective as of the date of the filing of this order and expiring on July 1, 2017, unless extended or made permanent by order of this court. The goals of the pilot project is to provide (1) those in the community with limited financial means access to volunteer appellate counsel; (2) volunteer counsel the opportunity to gain valuable appellate experience; and (3) experienced appellate counsel the opportunity to mentor the next generation of appellate attorneys.
